Prior to this afternoon, you couldn't see through our oven door. It. was. disgusting. I wish I had pictures. But I forgot. Besides, you wouldn't want to see how gross it was.
You see, it's not really MY oven. We're just renting. And we love our house. Really, we do (Don't get me started on the shower doors...that's a story for another day.). So, said oven was disgusting prior to our arrival. Just so we're clear - it's not my fault. I thought, Gee, it would be nice to actually see my food while it's cooking. That's not asking too much, is it?
I researched online how to clean an oven door. Being the frugal gal that I am, I couldn't bring myself to buy an oven cleaner at the store. So I settled on a baking soda paste idea: mix it up (to the consistency of glue), slap it on that nasty oven door, and wait. After 10-15 minutes, put on your cleaning gloves, pull up a chair (yes, I really did this!), and start scrubbing with a rag! Be sure to have the trash can and a bucket of water handy, too (that paste has to go somewhere...).
Oh. my. goodness! An amazing thing happened - I could see my pizza baking in the oven tonight!
That works for me!
