Copps: Jingle Bucks promotion

So I totally don't think this is a worthwhile promotion at all, but maybe that's just because I am so frugal. Copps is running a "Jingle Bucks" promotion for the holidays this year. It's tied to your Roundy's Rewards card, so you'll need to have one of those.

Here's the details:
  • For every $100 in "qualified purchases" you spend totaling $500 or more from October 24 through December 18, 2010, you'll earn 1% cash back.
  • The rewards don't start until you've spent at least $500.
  • Your progress will show on the bottom of your receipt after each shopping trip.
  • The breakdown:
    • Spend $500-599 = $5 Jingle Bucks reward
    • Spend $600-699 = $6 Jingle Bucks reward
    • Spend $700-799 = $7 Jingle Bucks reward
    • Spend $800-899 = $8 Jingle Bucks reward
  • When you shop between December 18 and January 5 (after the promotion has ended), your Jingle Bucks reward will print at the bottom of your receipt. Take your receipt to the Customer Service Desk to receive a gift card in the amount that you've earned.
  • Some fine print: the $500 is before tax and after store coupons.
There's absolutely no way I could spend $500 on groceries in about 6 weeks! It takes me more than three months to spend that much on groceries! And, I don't spend it all at one store. One of the best ways to save money on groceries is to cherry pick at multiple stores.
