We decided to brave the Labor Day traffic around here yesterday (quite heavy since people were closing down their summer cabins...) and run a few errands.
We are still searching for a new entertainment center (our movers broke ours in our move in July and we just received the settlement last week) but unfortunately struck out with that yesterday. So the search continues...
We also stopped in at Burnstad's in Tomah to take advantage of a few of their sale items:
Bakery Italian bread (for my husband) $1.49
Dean's French Onion dip (also for my husband) $1.33
Flavorite margarine (2) $1.50 ($0.75 each)
Kraft cheese (2 chunk and 3 shredded) $5.00 (on sale 2/$4 and used $5/5 coupon)
Ore Ida Crispers $1.75 (on sale for $2.50, used $0.75/1 coupon from company)
Lay's Chips (3) $2.97 (on sale for $0.99 each!)
Skippy Peanut Butter (2) $1.98 (on sale for $0.99 each!)
Buddig Lunch meat (5-2 oz. packets) $0.59 each (reg. price $0.79, used $1/5 coupon-sign up for Lunch Club)
Russet potatoes, 5 lbs., $1.79
Colgate toothpaste $0.25 (on sale for $1.00, used $0.75/1 coupon)
Total with tax: $21.07
My cashier nearly refused to take Kraft cheese coupon, but I kindly told her that this very coupon is advertised on some of the bags of cheese in their very store. Her response: "It's advertised?!" After calling for a manager and being told so-and-so was at lunch, she hemmed and hawed a bit longer and finally manually put the coupon through. After that, she scrutinized the rest of my coupons very closely!
