I definitely spent more than I wanted to this week. While I aim for $40/week for grocery and household spending, that is proving to be very difficult to do because of where we live. In a rural area, I can't "cherry pick" at 3 grocery stores, 2 mass-merchandise stores and 2 drugstores every week, like many families can! I basically only grocery shop once a month, and then just fill in throughout the month if/when I make it to a neighboring town with stores.
It's probably easier for me to budget $160 for the entire month, rather than a set amount each week. So, since I spent $66.93 this week (the first week of October), I'll stick to about $13.00 for spending next week. Since we don't really need anything, that shouldn't be too hard. I might make a trip to Dollar General on Sunday (the last day of their current ad) to stock up on TP and Suave lotion.
I'm so jealous! $1 coupons doubled... Besides Kmart occasionally doubling (supposedly...although they give you such a hard time and let you wait for so long that they should pay you to go there...ok sorry about the rant) no stores double in South Florida.
