Shopping Trip: Walmart

I did a pretty large shopping trip at Walmart (in Onalaska) on Wednesday. Keep reading to hear more about my price matching story. :)

Oral-B toothbrush heads, $21.97 (used $3/1 from 7/31 P&G)
Cascade 3 ct. trial size, Free (.97 reg. price; used $1/1 from 7/31 P&G)
Dozen large eggs, $1.19
2 Strawberries, .99 (price matched to Aldi)
Farmland bacon, $3.48
Spent $52.79.

So...have you seen the price matching commercial for Walmart? "Match it...match it...match it!"

Yeah, so it didn't work like that for me. :)

I told the cashier that I'd like to price match to Aldi's ad, where strawberries are .99. She said, "Well, Aldi is not on my list. I need to see Aldi's ad." (In the commercial, they specifically say, "You don't need the ad" with a huge smile...).

I told her, "Well, your policy says I don't need an ad. Check with someone else please."

A manager of some sort came over and told her to go ahead with the price match. The cashier turned back around and told me, "We normally don't match food, but I'll do it this time."

She then proceeded to scrutinize every. single. coupon. It was painful, let me tell you! But, I did get my .99 strawberries - and I've already made homemade strawberry syrup with one package!
