June's DIY Project: I can crochet!

For June, I vowed to learn how to crochet. I've always wanted to learn, but have never made the time. I figured this summer would be a good time as we have some relaxing vacation time planned.

It turns out crocheting is really easy! I was so thankful that my mother in law was here last weekend because she knows how to crochet, so she kindly offered to teach me. That was so much better than trying to learn by tutorials or You Tube videos.

I'm working on a dishcloth with the single crochet "stitch." After just a few days, I can already tell that I am getting faster at it.

I'm looking forward to finishing this dishcloth and hopefully completing more complicated crochet stitches!

  1. That looks awesome. I tried to crochet and I just couldn't figure it out. I have the added problem of being left handed so many people try to teach you the right handed way and I can't turn it around :) I did learn to knit though which I love to do and of course do right handed :) I hope that you have the same problem that I had when I started... everyone gets dish clothes for Christmas :)

    1. I can't imagine being left-handed - I'm sure that would be very difficult to learn! Glad you learned to knit, though!

And yes, I think everyone will be getting dishcloths (or scarves!) for Christmas this year. ;) Ha!
